Renewing Your License Agreement

Residents are expected to apply for license renewal 45 days prior to the ending date.  License renewals are contingent upon satisfactory payment history, a positive history of behavior, continued student/staff status, and compliance with community policies.

Each Spring, an "Early Renewal Special" is offered for current residents who wish to renew their license for the next year. 

RENEW NOW to live on campus 2009-2010!

March 1-31, 2009 is the Williams Campus Housing early renewal period.  All license agreements expire prior to July 31, 2009.  If you plan to remain on campus after your license expires, it is in your best interest to renew now.  All current residents who sign a 2009-10 license during the early renewal period will secure special early renewal rates.  

Students Living in Family Housing:

Family Housing residents may renew at any time during the month of March.  Visit our office during regular business hours or attend one of the Renewal Fair events.  You do not have to wait until your license expires to renew and secure the special early renewal rates!

Students Living in the Residence Halls or Shared Houses:

To keep your current room beyond your May 15th or July 31st expiration date:  Visit our office March 16th through March 18^th or attend the March 26^th Renewal Fair to sign a new license.  After 6 PM on March 25^th you will lose your priority for your same room and another student may select your room!

To move to a different room on campus:  Attend the renewal fair on March 19^th!  This will give you the greatest variety of rooms from which to choose.  You may also visit our office to select from available rooms from March 27^th through March 31^st.

March 18^th, 5-7 PM (to reserve your SAME ROOM ONLY)

You may also visit our office during regular office hours any day through March 25th to reserve your same room

OR

March 26^th, 5-7 PM (to select a DIFFERENT ROOM) new date!

both events will be held in the Student Union Annex Ballroom

Bring your ASU ID and proof of current enrollment showing at least 6 credits

• March 25^th: Deadline for students currently living in FYE, Bell, Mustang, Phantom and South Desert Village Shared Houses to sign a 2009-10 License Agreement to reserve their SAME ROOM.  After this date, all rooms that have not been reserved by their current occupant will be opened up to ALL residents.

• March 26^th, 5-7 PM: First day for current residents to select an available room in FYE, Bell, Mustang, Phantom or South Desert Village Shared Houses. 

UPPERCLASSMAN LIVING OPTIONS FOR FALL 2009

• FYE/Palo Blanco will be converted to all single rooms for upperclassmen (single room, share bathroom with one other student, small fridge in room, minimum meal plan required)
• Bell Hall will be all single and "super single" rooms for upperclassmen (single room, share bathroom, kitchenette and living room with four other students, minimum meal plan required). "Super Single" rooms offered at higher rate (extra large room). Planned upgrades to Bell Hall include full-size beds, new paint, and new flooring (these upgrades are subject to change and are not guaranteed at this time).
• Mustang & Phantom Halls will remain the same (single room, private bathroom, share kitchenette with one other student, no meal plan required).
• South Desert Village Shared Houses will remain the same (private room in a house with one or two other students, master bedroom has private bathroom, fully furnished). Planned upgrade for Fall 2009 includes the addition of washers and dryers in each house.
• Dean, Eagle, Talon, Falcon Halls will not be available to upperclassmen (with the exception of Talon and Eagle Studios).
• NOTE REGARDING MEAL PLANS:  Those students who currently reside in Eagle and Falcon Halls will NOT be required to purchase a meal plan if moving to Bell or Palo Blanco (FYE) for Fall 2009.  All other students choosing to live in these buildings will be required to purchase a meal plan.

Important Things to Know:

• You cannot sign up to reserve your current room if you are a resident of Dean, Eagle (other than Studios), or Falcon Halls.  You must wait until March 26^th at 5:00 PM to select from the available rooms in the Mustang, Phantom, Bell, FYE or South Desert Village Shared Houses.
• You cannot reserve your current room by the March 25^th deadline AND then look for another available room on March 26^th.  You must decide whether you want to reserve your current room or take a risk and wait to see what becomes available. 
• Once you sign a License Agreement, you are committing to living on campus and are subject to cancellation fees.  Please READ your license agreement before signing!
• If you do not sign a license by March 31, 2009, you can still live on campus…but…you will be paying higher rates and will have a more limited variety of rooms from which to choose.
• You will not be able to sign a license agreement (other than family housing) during business hours on March 26^th (to allow us to offer the greatest selection at the start of the 5:00 PM Renewal Fair).
• The monthly payment plan will no longer be offered.  You may either pay for the full semester or select a 3-payment/semester plan (for an additional fee of $25/semester).  Due dates may be viewed at www.poly.asu.edu/housing/payments.html If receiving financial aid, you may complete a Financial Aid Deferment to delay the due date until the semester has started.
