Renewing Your License Agreement

Residents are expected to apply for license renewal 45 days prior to the ending date.  License renewals are contingent upon satisfactory payment history, a positive history of behavior, continued student/staff status, and compliance with community policies.

Each Spring, an "Early Renewal Special" is offered for current residents who wish to renew their license for the next year. 

Sign up NOW to live on campus 2008-2009!

March 1-31, 2008 is the Williams Campus Housing early renewal period.  All license agreements expire prior to July 31, 2007.  If you plan to remain on campus after your license expires, it is in your best interest to renew now.  All current residents who sign a 2008-09 license during the early renewal period will secure the current year’s rates and avoid paying the higher 2008-09 rates. 

Renewal Fair

March 5^th and 6^th , 5-7 PM

Student Union Annex Ballroom

• March 5^th: Deadline for students currently living in the North Residence Halls and South Desert Village Shared Houses to sign a 2008-09 License Agreement to reserve their SAME ROOM.  After this event ends on March 5^th, all rooms that have not been reserved by their current occupant will be opened up to ALL residents.

• March 6^th, 5-7 PM: First day for current residents to select an available room in the North Residence Halls or South Desert Village Shared Houses.  First day for residents of Dean, Bell and FYE to select a room.

Students Living in the Residence Halls or Shared Houses:

To keep your current room beyond your May 9th or August 1st expiration date:  Visit our office March 1^st-5^th or attend the March 5^th Renewal Fair to sign a new license.  After 7 PM on March 5^th you will lose your priority for your same room and another student may select your room!

To move to a different room on campus:  Attend the renewal fair on March 6^th!  This will give you the greatest variety of rooms from which to choose.  You may also visit our office to select from available rooms from March 7^th through March 31^st.

Students Living in Family Housing:

Family Housing residents may renew at any time during the month of March.  You may come to our office during regular business hours, renew at Spring Fling on March 1^st, or attend one of the Renewal Fair events.  You do not have to wait until your license expires to renew and secure the lower rates!

Important Things to Know:

• You cannot sign up to reserve your current room if you are a resident of Dean, Bell or FYE.  You must wait until March 6^th at 5:00 PM to select from the available rooms in the North Residence Halls or South Desert Village Shared Houses.

• You cannot reserve your current room by the March 5^th deadline AND then look for another available room on March 6^th.  You must decide whether you want to reserve your current room or take a risk and wait to see what becomes available. 

• Once you sign a License Agreement, you are committing to living on campus and are subject to cancellation fees.  Please READ your license agreement before signing!

• If you do not sign a license by March 31, 2008, you can still live on campus…but…you will be paying higher rates and will have a more limited variety of rooms from which to choose.

• You will not be able to sign a license agreement (other than family housing) during business hours on March 6^th (to allow us to offer the greatest selection at the start of the 5:00 PM Renewal Fair).

• If you have friends, who are students, who do not currently live on campus but would like to live with/near you…send them to sign a License Agreement.  If they are not current residents, they will not be eligible for the early renewal rates, but we assist with assigning them near/with you once the process opens up to new residents later this Spring.  New License Agreements require the submission of $190 (application fee, deposit, activity fee).  Continuing residents do not pay the application fee or deposit; the activity fee is billed to you with your first monthly installment on the new License.

Summer Housing

Rooms are still available for Summer 2008!  Freshmen who currently live in Dean, Bell or FYE are eligible to move into available rooms in the North Residence Halls after the spring semester ends.  If you live in the North Residence Halls or South Desert Village Shared Houses, and plan to stay over the summer, MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE YOUR ROOM by signing a summer License Agreement.  Please contact Kathi at 727-1700 if you are interested in summer housing.
